No. 159 South Port Gardner Bay Viewpoint

Port Gardner, north of Everett Marina, is an inlet of Possession Sound on which the city of Everett, Washington is located. The Snohomish River flows into the bay to the north and is border on the west by Jetty Island. During low tide the water recedes revealing old wood pylons and sandy bottom. Plenty of wildlife can be scene here.
Remnants of Everett, Wa history as a "Mill Town" from the 20th century still dot the shoreline landscape were once lumber and shingle mills and floating log booms provided an econimical boom to the growing city, which saw its population triple from less than 8,000 in 1900 to nearly 25,000 in 1910. Everett gloried in its "Mill Town" reputation, which was further enhanced when the massive Weyerhaeuser Mill B opened on the river front in 1915.

No. 45 Richmond Salt Water Beach- Shoreline

Richmond Salt Water Beach
2021 NW 190th St
(between N 21st Ave & N 20th Ave)

Getting there:
From Hwy 99 (Aurora Avenue North) head west on N 185th which turns into N Richmond Beach Road. Continue west until 20th Ave NW. Turn left onto 20th Ave NW and head south 1/4 mile until you reach the park entrance.

Richmond Beach Saltwater park is a 40 acre terraced park with three levels to it. At the top is a wide open field with nice views of the Puget Sound, Bainbridge Island and Kitsap County. A children's playground and a Reflex Solaris, a public art piece by Laura Haddad and Tom Drugan lay in the middle. The Reflex Solaris piece includes an interactive concrete and steel sundial in the central activity area, (near the children's play structure), and five steel reflectors that will cast images of the surrounding environment.  Standing on the sundial at designated spots, one can look east at the hillside to see the steel reflectors along the true north, Winter and Summer solstice and Fall and Spring equinox lines.
At the bottom of the hill is a large parking lot and restrooms. To the south of the parking lot you will find the paved walkway that takes you across the BNSF Rail Road tracks to Richmond Beach.
Richmond beach is over 1 mile in length and is mostly large rock, so sturdy shoes are a must. During low tide the beach width tripples and you can see all sorts of sea life exposed by the reseeding water. Drift wood piles up along the coast and looks like the local beach goers like to build driftwood castles.
