Not many cities in the world still feature an active seaplane transportation system. But out here in the Pacific Northwest we have the Seattle area, the San Juans and British Columbia, Canada which still have scheduled daily seaplane flights to many ports of call and fishing spots. If you spot a seaplane over head chances are that you are seeing a DCH-2 Beaver on floats flying above you.
Founded in 1946, Kenmore Air Inc, has fleet of 25 aircraft including fixed wheeled Cessna 208C Caravans for its land based operations and piston and turbo shaft DCH-2 Beavers and Turbo Otters for its seaplane operations.
The main HQ of Kenmore Air in along the north end of Lake Washington, that is where the seaplanes are stored overnight and dropped into the water the next morning. The land based terminal is located at King County International Airport Main Terminal in South Seattle.
