Saturday will feature speakers, live music, demonstration flying and period displays. Throughout the weekend HFF will host the Commemorative Air Force historical presentation “Rise Above,” an inspiring tribute to the Tuskegee Airmen offered in a transportable theater.

Take dad to Paine Field on Father’s Day weekend to see the Flying Heritage Collection’s amazing aircraft take to the skies. Father and son teams Steve and Steven Hinton, along with Bud and Ross Granley, will demonstrate the legendary aircraft of the Pacific War—the P-51 Mustang, F6F Hellcat, P-40 Tomahawk, and the rare Mitsubishi A6M Zero.

Watching the flying demonstration is always free, but why not make the day of it? Museum admission gets you entry for special events and lectures, a free pilots’ autograph signing session, and an up-close look at some of the rarest and most valuable vintage aircraft and vehicles in the world!

Doors open at 10 am, planes fly at noon!

​On Saturday, May 17, 2014, the Washington Pilots Association (WPA), Paine Field Airport, Flying Heritage Collection, and Historic Flight Foundation will host the 19th Annual Paine Field Aviation Day from 9am - 3pm
Paine Field Aviation Day FAQs:

• Family Friendly Annual Aviation Event occurring in May for over 18 years
• $10 Individual Admission (youth under 17 free)
• Entrance to the Flying Heritage Collection and the Historic Flight Foundation
• Free parking and shuttles - Event Map / Directions
• Aircraft from the Flying Heritage Collection, Historic Flight Foundation and Cascade Warbirds fly from noon to 1:30pm
• Several local food vendors
• Kick off the event with the Charity Firefighters Pancake Breakfast
• Free Young Eagles introductory flights for youth 8-17—first-come-first-served and space is limited

No. 269 Air Force One lands in Everett, WA

One the 1 month after the Oso, Washington landslide President Obama arrived in Washington State to meet with state officials, local first responders and families affected by the landslide.
At 12:42pm Air Force One appeared over waters of Possession Sound on a 5 mile final and was cleared for landing on 16R at Paine Airport in Everett, WA. 6 minutes later the queen of the skies ,a late model 1990's Boeing 747-200, touched down in Snohomish County with sunbreaks.
President Obama met Washington State officials awaiting his arrival at the bottom of the air stairs and then boarded USMC VH-3 helicopters to be flown to KAWO Arlington. VH-3s were escorted by 3 HMX-1 MV-22B Osprey.

Saturday morning started off promising with a few sunbreaks around Snohomish County. But by 11am overcast clouds started rolling in from the south east and a light drizzle soon followed. Owner and pilot John Sessions begun his B-25D Mitchell pre-flight just after 11am but moved the pre-flight discussion out of the rain and inside the hangar.
A few of the volunteers and myself took shelter from the rain under the wings of the B-25 and waited for the V-22s and Vh-3s to startup and take off on their Presidential Transportation exercise over Snohomish County and Arlington Airport.
Although the rain made the afternoon a little uncomfortable there was still plenty of activity on the airport including an American Bald Eagle soaring overhead, take off of V22s, VH-3s, a Dreamifter, Boeing 737s and 777s.
