Cap Sante Park (1000 W Avenue) is a 37 acre forested promontory at the eastern edge of Anacortes. It is primarily a viewpoint overlooking the marina to the west, the downtown Anacortes, March Point, Fidalgo Bay and the Cascades to the east. 

Directions
Take Hwy 20 to Anacortes
Continue on Hwy 20 until it turns into Commercial Ave
Turn right onto 4th Street
Turn Right onto V Ave
Continue for a 1/4 mile until you reach the parking Lot over look

Grand Avenue Park sits on a bluff overlooking the Everett Marina. It is a 5 acres hill top park located on Grand Avenue between 19th Street and 16th Street. After a re-dedication in June of 2008 the park was upgraded with wider walkways, historical street lighting, public art installations, including a compass rose, and new planting beds. The park over looks the Everett Naval Base, and Port Gardner Bay.

Beautiful marina, next door to the Everett Naval Base. With over 2000 boats ranging in length from dinghis and kayaks, to small and large motor yachts to tall sail boats dotting the scene. Plenty of reflection shot opertunities throughout the day. The floating dock are only open to boat owners but with a mid zoom lens you can get in quit close on the hull details from the walk way that goes around the complex. You will see a lot of bird wildlife from gulls, goose, herons to sea life such as pacific harbor seals, grey whales, crabs, and killer whales. A good location for any time of day. Sunsets are dramatic all times of year, weather permitting.

No. 22 Everett, Washington Welcomes New USN Carrier CVN 68 USS Nimitz

The supercarrier CVN-68 USS Nimitz, at nearly 1092 feet in length, has left Bremerton Naval Shipyard for exercises at sea before making its first trip to its new home port NAS Everett. It is set to arrive in Everett on Friday.

Sailors aboard the aircraft carrier have spent the past year completing painting, tiling, welding and updating electrical and other systems on the carrier while it has been docked at the naval shipyards in Bremerton.

The Nimitz, hull number 68, was commissioned in 1975 and homeported in Bremerton from 1987 to 1997. The carrier moved to San Diego, Calif., in November 2001. It called home until December 2010 when it returned to Bremerton. USS Nimitz is sheduled to be replaced by CVN79 USS John F. Kennedy in 2018.
